At Wondrous Woodgrains LLC, my mission is to transform raw wood into beautiful home accessories that highlight the natural grain and form of each unique handcrafted piece. Each item is created with care and attention to detail, reflecting my passion for woodworking and design. My journey is deeply rooted in a lifelong passion for crafting unique objects from locally sourced wood. This passion began over 50 years ago in a middle school shop class, where the magic of transforming raw materials into beautiful creations first captivated me.

I have recently returned to those early inspirations, embracing the artistry of woodworking with a band saw and a lathe, leaving behind the world of keyboards and conference calls. I am dedicated to utilizing locally sourced wood, which I acquire from trees removed due to storm damage or overcrowding. This commitment not only supports local ecology but also ensures that each piece maintains a unique story and character.

Currently, my work features a selection of stunning woods, including Maple, Pear, Red Cedar, Northern White Cedar, Red Pine, Elm, Box Elder, American Ash and Cherry. Each creation at Wondrous Woodgrains is meticulously handcrafted to highlight the natural grain and form of the wood, inviting you to appreciate the beauty of nature in your home.

In addition to the items I make on the lathe, I am also working on improving my skills with using traditional hand tools to make small furniture pieces with time honored joinery such as mortice and tenon and dovetails.
